Jennifer Lynn Connelly, born 12 December 1970 was an American actor. When she began her career as a child model and then acting debut in 1984's crime movie Once Upon a Time in America. After modeling for a number of years, she chose to pursue acting and was in numerous films which included the film of horror Phenomena (1985), Labyrinth (1986) and Career Opportunities (1991) and The Rocketeer (1991). The performance she made in Dark City (1998), an science-fiction film that dealt with addiction to drugs, was well-received. Connelly also won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 2002 for her performance as Alicia Nash in Ron Howard’s biopic A Beautiful Mind (2001). The films that followed included the superhero film Hulk (2003 and the horror film Dark Water (2005) and the psychological drama Little Children (2006). Connelly also appeared in the dramatic film Blood Diamond (2006) and the science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008).
