angie

The track "Angie" is by The Rolling Stones from England The song is included in the album released in 1973 Goats Head Soup. It also served as the lead single from the album's 20 August 1973 release. Like many Rolling Stones songs, the track is credited to Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. But, it's generally accepted that Richards composed the majority of the track, with Jagger singing a few lyrics. "Angie" is an acoustic, guitar-driven ballad, which depicts the ending of an affair and was recorded between November 1972 and in December 1972. Richards composed the piano melody for the song. Nicky Hopkins was a regular on Rolling Stones recordings. Nicky Harrison arranged the strings for the song and also "Winter" as part of his arrangement. A peculiarity of the original recording is Mick Jagger's vocal track that was recorded prior to when the final vocals were recorded and is not heard throughout the entire song. This effect is often known as a ghost voice.
