George Strait

 George Harvey Strait Sr. was born on May 18th, 1952. He is a famous American country musician, singer and songwriter. Strait also works as an actor as well as a music producer. Strait is known as the "King of Country", and is among the most well-known and influential recording artists of all time. Strait is believed to have ignited the neotraditionalist movement during the late 1980s. His simplistic cowboy image and music that was rooted were an important factor in the development of the neotraditionalist movement and the decline of pop-country. The 1980s saw seven albums from Strait topped the charts for country. Strait was awarded his first Grammy for his album Troubadour in 2000. He was also named Artist of the Decade at the Academy of Country Music and was inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame. In 1989, Strait was named CMA Entertainer of the Year.
