Jennifer Kate Hudson, also called J.Hud (born on September 12, 1981) is an American singer, actress and talk show host. She has been awarded numerous accolades for her contributions to television, film theatre, and recording songs throughout her professional career. Hudson was the first African-American woman, and also the youngest to receive the four most prestigious American entertainment awards, including Emmy (Grammy), Oscar, Tony (EGOT), and Oscar (Oscar). In 2013, she was also given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Time listed her as one of the top 100 influential people globally in the year 2020. She gained notoriety when she was a finalist on American Idol's third season 2004 when she finished seventh. In 2006 she made her debut on film in Dreamgirls as Effie in a role that played her in the role as Effie White. She was awarded the Academy Award in Best Supporting Actress for the musical and was the youngest African-American winner of a competition acting competition. Hudson was signed to Arista Records in 2008 and released her first studio album called "Hunter" that was certified Gold in the US, UK and won the Grammy Award as Best R&B Album.
