Kelly

Kelly Brianne Clarkson was born on April 24 in 1982. She is an American writer, singer and a television host. After winning the season 2002 of American Idol, she was successful in securing a record deal with RCA. The debut single "A Moment Like This" was a top hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was the most-sold country single in 2002. It was a track from her debut album Thankful (2003) that was released on the top spot of the Billboard 200. Clarkson made a decision to reinvent herself and resigned from Idol management to concentrate on the pop genre in the form of Breakaway (2004). Breakaway was backed by four US Top Ten singles, including the album's title song, "Since U Have Been Gone", "Behind These Hazel Eyes" and "Because of You". The album has sold over 12 million copies around the world and earned her two Grammy Awards. Clarkson also was in charge of the creative direction of her third album My December (2006) and wrote all the songs as well as serving as the album's executive producer. The label was not happy with the album's more mellow rock tracks and was reluctant to promote the album.
