American actor Shemar Franklin Moore was born on April 20, 1970. He is most well-known for his performances as Malcolm Winters (1994-2005) on The Young and the Restless, Derek Morgan (2005-2016) as well as the role of Hondo in S.W.A.T. The entire series airs on CBS. From 1999 until 2003, Moore was the third regular host of Soul Train. He also was awarded the 2000 Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Supporting Actor in the Drama Series. In the year 2016, Moore was nominated to the People's Choice Award for his role on Criminal Minds. He is the father of Marilyn Wilson (a business consultant) and Sherrod Moore. Moore was born to an African-American father and Canadian mother who was French. He was a student at Santa Clara University as a pitcher and outfielder for four seasons. Moore has a bachelor's degree in Communication with a minor Theater Arts.
