Alicia was through the FilmStruck hiring process in 2015. Malone took a recording of Robert Osborne and Ben Mankiewicz's openings so that she could practice reading them in front the camera prior to the TCM hosting audition. She auditioned for an Turner Classic Movies presenting position in 2017, and the channel hired her on January 1st of the following year. Malone discussed the struggles women have to face in the field of film during two separate TEDx talks.
