Gomez began her acting career in 2002 when she appeared on the TV show for children called Barney & Friends. She became famous for her role as Alex Russo, a teenage actor in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). Gomez was also a part of several films which include Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Princess Protection Program (2009). She also appeared in Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers (2012). Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016). A Rainy Day in New York (2018). The production company she runs, July Moon Productions, also produced 13 Reasons Why (2017-2022) and Living Undocumented (2018). She also appears in the Hulu comedy series that is a mystery Only Murders in the Building (2020-present) as well as the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (20-2020).
